What is Social Media Day?

Organized by Rally Marketing, Opportunity Machine and a collection of agencies in the Acadiana area, Social Media Day Lafayette provides marketers and businesses around Acadiana a forum to join together and educate the community—while honoring the media that connects us. Social Media Day welcomes beginners and experts for a jam-packed day of presentations and workshops from accomplished speakers and professionals. The third annual Social Media Day Lafayette will take place on Friday, June 22, at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Union and will feature a lineup of seminars and networking activities—all of which will be free of charge and open to the public.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Social Media Day Free?

Yes! Social Media Day is a free event open to the public. The only thing we ask is that attendees register for each session they plan to attend.

How do I register for sessions?

Once you click on the registration link, you’ll be directed to another page to register for each session. We have limited seats for each session. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis and may fill up fast!

What happens if I don’t register for a session?

Because we have limited seats for each session, it’s important that you reserve a seat. However, if you don’t register for a session, you’ll be placed on a waitlist on a first come, first served basis.

A session I wanted to attend is full, is there any other way I could get in?

If a session is full when you register, you’ll have the option to be placed on a waitlist. If someone cancels or doesn’t show up, then the first person on the waitlist will get a spot and so on.

Where can I park?

Parking will be available for free in the Earl K. Long parking lot on the corner of St. Mary Boulevard and McKinley Street. There will be plenty of signs posted the day of the event to direct you to our designated parking area and to the Student Union, so be on the lookout!

Will lunch be provided?

Lunch will not be provided, but attendees can purchase lunch from the Cypress Lake Dining Room on the second floor of the Student Union for $8.75.

I’m not a social media expert, can I still attend this event?

Of course! Whether you’re an expert or beginner, you’re welcome to join! This year, we’re introducing beginner, intermediate and advanced tracts to accommodate all experience levels.

Will there be any networking events or mixers after?

Yes! Be sure to join us for the after-party at The Wurst Biergarten from 6-8 p.m. following the event.
